Our lush garden offers a splendid opportunity of finding a great number of South African birds.
A lovely review written by an international birding tour leader
For a tour leader that makes birding trips all over the world, finding out what birds you can see during your 'common' holidays is always on your mind. When my wife and I searched the internet for B&B's during our trip to South Africa, the presence of a nice garden with possibilities for some birdwatching, was one of the conditions.
How pleasantly surprised we were, when we arrived at Crocodile Nest in November 2015. It started with the reception by Mark and Beryl, the very kind owners of the B&B. And what a B&B!! A lush garden, as part of a big citrus orchard, offered us a splendid opportunity of finding a great number of South African birds. Our plan to visit some places in the neighbourhood of Nelspruit were put on hold since we could spend our time birding in the garden. Within one day we found 67 species, with for me even some 'lifers'.
See the Crocodile Nest Bird List for a complete overview and let it speak for itself.
If you do want to see birds on you (birding) holiday, don't hesitate and book your rooms at Crocodile Nest B&B
